Every January the same conversation happens: records arrive late, the bill lands as a surprise, and there is no time left to do anything about it.

Filing early does not mean paying early. Your payment date stays the same, but you know the number months in advance and can plan around it.

Before we start, gather: self-employment income and expenses, bank interest, dividends, rental income and costs, pension contributions, gift aid donations, and any P60 or P45 from employment.
